iBadge: sustainable on many fronts
Step by step we are trying to reduce our footprint, but we still have a long way to go... Fortunately, we have the saying 'Paris and Rome weren't built in a day either' on our side.
A few years ago, we installed solar panels on our company building. Our electricity supplier supplies 100% green electricity from the sun and wind. Almost 75% of our employees walk or cycle. It's all in the little things, from packaging tape to an extra jumper. 80 % of our packaging envelopes are made from recycled material. When we ship in boxes, they often had a previous life too.
Since the launch of our eco-friendly finishing, this option has been growing steadily; over 25% of our customers have already made this choice. Our embroidery yarns and fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified, which means they don't get their lovely shades in a polluting way.
Last year, we became a business partner of Trees For All, prompted by Green Friday. We were enormously moved by their projects, both in Europe and in the rest of the world. Together with local project partners, Trees for All aims to plant new forests with indigenous or local plant material. In this way, together we ensure a better climate, more biodiversity and healthy living conditions. For everyone: young & sporty, seniors or chicks.
The green future dream of iBadge is clear according to Katrien and Mark: "We want future generations to be able to enjoy our beautiful nature just like us". During walks, hikes or camps, you can feel the relaxing effect of our green environment even more. It goes without saying that we have to make an effort and that we cannot afford to be complacent". It is important to realise that, even in business, things can often be done differently. You will surely have noticed. At iBadge it's all about passion.
And yes, of course: next year we want to be able to plant even more trees. How are we going to do that? Not alone, but together. More news soon, that's promised!
